Hey guys. I have a '03 yz450f. I have the headlight/taillight ready to put on, but I just cant see spending $500 right now for an e-line stator. So I am going (try) to mount a battery in the airbox. Has anyone done this? What battery did you use(dimensions)? And how do I go about mounting it securely? Will anything from a wr work? I'm itchin' to get this thing on the street. PLEASE HELP!!

Battery tray part # 5TJ-14437-10-00, need one of these.
Hook part # 5TJ-14436-00-00, need two.
Band part # 8CY-82131-00, need one.

You will also need to make 4 small L-brackets to hang it with. If you don't have access to a brake let me know I have a few extras here.

These are factory Yamaha parts and part #'s for an 05-06 tray(fits best). I get our parts from powersportspro.com, they usually have them in stock.

Hope this helps, later.

Yes, the Yuasa # is YTZ7S. Most of the 7 series batteries will work. While you are at it get a Battery Tender and a plug to hardwire into your bike.

Have fun.

Do you have pictures of these parts? I can't seem to find them in Canada.

Cheers,
