How do you remove a fork?

I need to remove my left side fork tube (side with the brake) to see what caused the fluid to leak out. I have never removed forks on a bike. Can someone give me the total noob explanation of how to do this? I know the firist step is removing the front wheel. After that, I don't know what to do. I would like to apart as little as possible.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

my left side fork seal got fooked too, like 300km on the bike. still waiting for a replacement, better call the shop tommorow and see whats up
It seems that the only one that goes is the left. I have now heard of four different bikes having the same problem. I wonder why it is the left only?

i dunno, i thought it was caused by a chunk of mud that had dried up on the fork behind the fork gaurd, not too sure what was happening
