Hey sorry, didn't recognize that you are the same guy who posted in my thread, should caught that since there aren't too many cr250 sm's here.
wow looks so much nicer. I agree that the plastic on the 01 looks better. Does it swap right over without any major mods? Reason I ask is cuz I wanted to build a cr500af this winter maybe, and from what I read so far on a different forum, the 97-99 year frames are the easiest to convert. It's almost straight over swap with just minor mods, nothing like the newer bikes. The only thing I didn't like was the plastic, the gen1 frame itself is good for SM because it is much more rigid then the newer frames, but the body looks outdated. You gave me a good idea here.
I love the black plastic, I had before my cr an 02 crf450 with all black plastic and hart & huntington graphics kit. I sold that bike to my uncle, but every time I see it I'm blown away by it. I got that bike so clean before I sold it, it looks new. He actually didn't plan on buying it, he saw it and told me he was gonna buy it. He doesn't even ride it anymore, just sits in his garage now. Ill post some pics of it later cuz he wants to try riding at the track on my bike, and I think he'll be hooked after so we may have another conversion on our hands.
one more question, I'm interested how you got the KTM shock off a no-link system on a linkage working well. I heard the valving is way different. Is it better for supermoto/street or just better overall?
