How soon we forget. Question #1 Buy a dial indicator which goes into the sparkplug hole then it will verify the factory mark on the lower sprocket. Factory mark should be vertical. About 30 to 60 dollars and very useful for plenty of stuff. Easy to use. Question # 2 The cam marks go level with the valve cover flat area facing toward the front of the bike. Thats the area where the seal in the valve cover makes contact with the head. Hint: While buying the indicator get a etching tool. I will E-Mail you my cell#. Use assembly lube on contact areas too.
