There were no "problems" with the 07s. In other words, if there were problems there would be recalls. The 08 is the same bike although it is equipped with emissions so that the consumer can register it in certain states. I wanted an 07 because all of those emission tubes and canisters on the 08 look disgusting. I have had no problems with this bike.

Also, most of the starter related problems and running issues that were "discovered" with the 07 models were traced back to improper set-up. The de-restriction process on these bikes is critical.
