That is a true statement, but until you pay for freight, handling/derestriction and of course document fees, tax, registration an additional ~ $1300 is needed.

Your ass will hurt and the motor will be screamin' a bit. If you plan to use it for that type of riding invest in another seat and gearing. Although, if you go with a smaller rear sprocket your chain slider will not last near as long...and going up with the front sprocket requires grinding the swingarm.

There were no "problems" with the 07s. In other words, if there were problems there would be recalls. The 08 is the same bike although it is equipped with emissions so that the consumer can register it in certain states. I wanted an 07 because all of those emission tubes and canisters on the 08 look disgusting. I have had no problems with this bike.

Also, most of the starter related problems and running issues that were "discovered" with the 07 models were traced back to improper set-up. The de-restriction process on these bikes is critical.
