Any of you guys have to cut out the inside of your fork guards so the tire doesnt grab them and rip them off?

I'm eyeballing my 450x up now and it looks like i have to notch out a good chunk where the sidewall meets the surface area beacuse it comes to a point and sticks out quite a bit.

I should stop being a baby and just get out the knife, but wanted to check first to see if there was something i was missing...

Yep, that's common practice when going from a 21in front rim to a 17in on an MX bike. Tire will hit the forkgaurd in a completely different area and requires trimming, I had to do it on my Lightspeed CF gaurds for my CRF450 forks.
