I believe you can get the Scott's brace w/o the guards for about $130. Contact SRC. I purchased the pair and ran the guards with a 320mm rotor and chewed said guard all up. They work fine with the stock rotor though.

yes .. i def felt the difference when braking hard. the forks have a tendency to flex with the oversize rotor... also a better feel in steering when in a corner layed over and you slam a pot hole. all of the force is directed into the travel rather than any flex in the tubes.
