Just one post too many...You had to go there didn't you.

Anyway, what time are you freaks heading to Redmond?

Same schedule as last year?

practice 4-7ish
show 7:30-9:30?
Beers 10-1

I talked a gaggle of my friends to come out riding for the weekend, and they ended up renting a house in Sisters and brought girlfriends and wives and are gonna ride during the day. You guys should do the same thing next year. the house is like $260 for 2 nights, and it sleeps like 10.

So I bought some new Pirelli Rains and I was planning on mounting them up for this weekend, and now I'm wondering if they're going to get damaged??? last year I ran that Maxxis Int rain, and I didn't give a rats ass about it, but I don't think I had the best grip... I have a set of rains that are wasted on the left side, has anyone ever mounted rains backwards? Did anyone ever try slicks last year? While I'm babbling away, I was thinking about how killer it would be for the dunes to mount a paddle tire to a 17x5 wheel, does anyone make an off-sized ATV tire that will fit???

Hah, I think Brian went off the deep end several weeks ago. He's kind of got this porno **** Gollum thing going on these days. I don't think there's any help at this point. I think the best treatment is like what you do with that one relative that has uncontrollable gas at holiday dinners.

You know you can't really kick them out of the family after all.

So Lawndart,

Are you going to explain your "showing signs of intoxication" to the group?

What are you talking about there, Ron? The race between you and Kurt was one of the best of the weekend. All the others had run away pros take off and leave the field. Your race for 1st was the way racing should be -- fighting for 1st and a super close finish. Now that's fun to watch!

By the way -- you're welcome Tom. It's the least I could do.

Agreed! It was a very close race, it went all the way to the end, and the crowd did cheer when Ron took the lead. Definately a weekend highlight.

This race is a fun event, and something unique, but I really had more fun riding the desert during the day. Sunday was killer!

The track is silly, there's no jumps, this year we had to pay to get in, and I felt like we were the team hired to play against the globetrotters. You know, just there to make the stars look good??? (not really hired because we paid to get in) Do you think we even got 20 min of racing time?

Hanging out with the guys is always fun, but I don't think I'm going to make the trip next year if they ask us.

I know, poo poo, but I'm just telling you what I think.

As always; great to see all of you, and I'm looking forward to the 25th!

Where exactly did you go dirt biking? The weather was great for it: Rain = no dust. Run into any snow? I've ridden a lot around the area, China Hat, Millican, 4-Corners & the butte behind Eagle Crest. Plus a bunch of dual-sport trips down towards Fort Rock, X-Mas Valley and beyond. Did you know there are huge sand dunes/ORV area SE of X-Mas Valley? If you know of other riding areas nearby, please share. Maybe we should go out there together sometime. The season for Central Ore riding is really just starting.

Friends of mine from work who live in Bend were in the stands with their kids on Sat night. Both of those guys are avid bicycle racers and somewhat less serious motorcyclists. When we talked on Monday, they said the kids preferred the freestyle, and the grups preferred the racing. My pal and his 7-yr-old who came w/me on Friday said the same thing. The dads thought the freestyle wore thin pretty quick, and I agree. Without us, it wouldn't be as good a show. I like short track stuff. To me it was worth 30 bucks.

Saturday we rode at the OHV play area off hwy 20. it misted rain most of the morning, but by 2pm the sun came out. I didn't take too many pictures because I was riding, but here's one of the girls:

There were 3 girls with us and we all decided to go to the paly area despite all the trails being closed for the winter in this area.

sunday we staged at 4 corners and never saw any rain all day. it was like riding on chocolate cake. the worst part about riding there in the summer is that you have to stay 1/2 mile behind your buddy because of the dust. Zero dust. Zero Snow. about 45 deg and sunny/some clouds. Spring and fall are the times to go - dust in the summer, and snow in the winter.

Here's a link to the area. You could spend 3 days there easily and never hit the same trails. - that's riding 100 miles a day.

4 corners is 20 miles (30min) from bend - you can see an inset map of the area.

I got a check for $65 a couple days ago, and all of a sudden I feel better about the whole thing. I'll ride if I'm getting paid... Yo, I'm pro!!!

Hooray for Kevin! They didn't pay down to where I wound up- 20th or something -but that's OK. Now that you're a pro, you can demand start money just for showing up! But don't quit your day job until the contract is signed.

Hey, Ron, are you gonna post the helmet cam video?
