Been looking for a supermoto bike for a while now and I've been getting alot of good feedback on this forum (thanks!). I'm considering a used FE 501 and was hoping to get some input. First of all, according to husqvarna, the motor needs a rebuild every 135 hours?! Is that for real? I have seen some people say that the FE 501 motor will do ~20k miles with nothing but routine maintenance and valve adjustments... but was just hoping for some more feedback. Also, what's the difference between the 501 and 501s? Any reason why this wouldn't be a good choice for a supermotor bike?
Also, for reference, the bike will be used almost exclusively on the street for short rides. No real dirt use, no long highway trips, etc. I dont plan on putting many miles on it (<1,000 miles per year for sure).
Thanks

500/501 are the best street legal supermoto bikes made. 135 hours is not true/realalistic. I have and still own both bikes.

Hey Guys …. Ive got a 2016 exc500 (KTM version of fe501) with 260+ hours and have only done routine maintenance.
Its hands down the most consistent and reliable bike in my stable.
Only thing that is annoying is the oil changes every 15 hours as they rack up quick on the street.
Hope this helps.
