I have had mine on 2 pretty much from day one and just changed it to 3 to give it a try. Night and Day difference! 3 is my new favorite setting. You seriously can't tell any difference? #3 got rid of the jerkyness and feels like way more midrange, and it didn't seem like I really lost any top end, I LIKEY VERY MUCH:D
same here. number 3 feels better on my butt dyno and is smoother.
Never thought about running it on anything but "Advanced" (the way I got the bike).... Well, after reading this thread, I tried #3...

Wow! Big difference from #2... The jerkiness under 4k rpm's is gone and the bike feels just as fast to me... I clutched up 2nd gear a little easier actually due to the smoother throttle response...

I think I'll be leaving it on #3... :thumbup:

I haven't tried #2 yet, but based on all your feedback, I think I'll stay with #3.

In other news, I did the "wire-mod" yesterday and I definitely think I feel a difference once it hits about 4,000 RPM's and beyond. It feels like it really continues to build on power.....quite a bit more than before.

Thanks to Jason for the pics & write-up on this. That helped out a lot. Like others said, I used some needle-nose pliers to grab & push the pins out for the two wires that are not needed. I sealed them up in some heat shrink tubing and zip tied it all back up.

You obviously haven't heard that the 0-3 settings are just for girls. The real power from this motor is at setting number 9
That's right, I'm saying the owners manual has a huge mistake, and the 0-3 numbers and the 4-9 numbers are nothing more than a language misinterpretation.

Do me a real quick favor and dial that pot up to number 9

Believe me when I say that you will spend the next month riding your 690 with all of the power available rather than wasting your time (and mine) on this website. No need to reply to me with a thank you, just enjoy some real man power.
