Edge Tail light - US plate adapter interest?

i understand this to be an issue because the foriegn plates are smaller. I currently have mine zip tied, but it buzzes a bit. I have heard people drilling new holes in the plate, but that blocks the tags on a CA plate. i was going to design up a simple bracket that mounts to the Edge holes and the CA plate holes. id make it nice... counter sink holes, alum or stainless, etc... hardward would be easy.

is there interest enough from anyone else for me to make a few? i cant imagine it would cost any more than $10 or so with hardware. im actually suprised wheeling cycle does not sell them.

my machine guy usually makes me 2 or 3 of the random stuff i come up with - but can make more if there is interest. let me know.

You could probably sell a few. I made one for my Edge tail light. Pretty simple to do.

thats pretty much what i had in mind...

i thought if i was going to make 1 i may as well make a few if there is interest. im not looking to make anything on these... just help some people out.
Some people make complete aluminum backer plates the same size as the plate, but I haven't had any issues w/ vibration induced cracks on my plate at all w/ the small adapter I made. A full plate sized aluminum adapter would be nice to offer folks, but then plates are different sizes in different states. My West Virginia motorcycle tag is much smaller than Maryland's motorcycle tags. I wasn't so much worried about blocking any info. on the tag itself, it's just much more sano looking to make a bracket than drill extra holes in the plate. Bleah.

I found this at cycle gear last year when I got the Edge tail light kit and discovered the bracket was for euro plates. Its 10 bucks for the silver or 20 for the black one. I just tossed the blinker mounts (they are separate pieces) and used the main piece by itself. Works perfectly and you cant go wrong for 10 bucks.
Just so everyone knows, you can use the stocker also. Just turn it around backwards and mount it behind the plate on the edge....works like a champ. I'll try and get pics this afternoon to explain it better.

well there you go! that was pretty much what i was going to do. without the light adapters though.

i am halfway tempted to just make a whole new piece - like the edge - but for american plates. it will be easier just to make an adapter though. more time riding vs taking the bike apart :)

ill post something when i come up with it...ride safe
