So i go down to the bike shop and purchase a new set of grips for my 08 drz 400.I take a razor blade and cut off the left grip and slip on the new one. Then I go to the throttle side and slice it with the razor blade, and nothing happens so i slice it again, and still nothing!! The throttle tube and the grip are molded into eachother!! I spent about an hour cutting and grinding it off with an air grinder being oh so carefull not to grind through the plastic!! So if your thinking about changing your grips i would also buy a new throttle tube for it at the same time to save you the problems i had!:headshake

I've seen lots of people with this problem. I made a cut down the grip with an exacto knife, and just peeled it off the tube with my fingers. Kinda' like what Arny did to his arm in Terminator 2. No problems. Took about 15 seconds. Lucky me!
