i got the 16 tooth counter sprocket for my drz and i also bought a new o-ring chain. i already made a notch for clearance on the rubber swing arm part, but when the chain is on it RUBBS on the case and is putting a decent gouge in there and i havent even run it in fear of it doing more damage. so i was thinking of getting a NON-oring chain. my question is, is a non-oring chain a little bit narrower or smaller than a oring chain? i am thinking i could use the extra room. anybody else with one have any issues with it fitting. thanks

Yes a standard chain is narrower than an o-ring chain, and doesn't have much drag. It will also last as long as an o-ring chain if you properly maintain it.

I've heard somewhere that you can sometimes turn the front sprocket over and put it back on, and you'll get a bit more clearance for the o-ring chain. Don't know if it applies to DRZs, though
