Gotta go for the ORANGE DAAAH!
950SMYa, I agree with you guys on the fact that the SD and Dorso are two different catagories of bike/but not. I just sold my 540exc and am looking for something a little more street worthy, but still fun in the twisties. I deffinetly don't want a 'me too' bike.
I have narrowed my decission down to the SD and Dorso. I'm leaning towards the SD because a 350+lb motard doesn't sound appealing to me. I'm just looking for good info and opinions. Has anybody had a chance to ride a Dorso?
GREAT BIKE as I put 8000 miles on mine however the 950 is a major rush when you nail it. If you want to drag race yer buddies new Hyper and soundly blow him in the weeds then the the 950 is yer bike. And you can pick one up totally modded for like 8/9 grand?how about the goold ole 625smc? Its still a true tard but a little bit better at street riding.
The 950 is a beast in ALL situations and especially in traffic. It pulls hard like a mule all the way through the power band and w/Evo Akras it sounds mean as hell while doing it. I have also done jets&1 down on the counter. With the stock counter it was just like twilight zone.i think what it comes down to is what kind of riding you are doing. the ktm with its big hp will be useless if your bobbing and weaving in heavy city traffic. the dorso will be much funner to ride. but if your a track day junkie then the super duke will have you turning hot laps. Alot of times potential buyers are jaded by performance numbers alone.
You're right about SD/SM being to much for some, You often see 950sm's on ebay with adds that say stuff like I need to sell it before it kills me.In my mind, there is no better bike than the SD. I don't think I'll ever own one though. Too much bike for me I'm thinking.
You should add the Duc Hypermotard to your poll. SD still wins...but the Duc is sexy in the way that only an Italian woman can be.
