What are the main differences between the two models?

the ktmusa website should have all you need.

the smc is taller and looks more like a dirt bike.

the smc has much more suspension travel.

the smc is quite a bit lighter.

the sm(r) is styled a lot differently and doesn't look like a true motard or true dirt bike.

i'm not knockin the sm(r) but i prefer the look and feel of the smc.

Or, to put that a different way, the SM/R is a street bike that looks sort of like a SUMO, and the SMC is a SUMO that looks a little like a street bike.

i would consider the duke more like a sport bike than a supermoto.
