Hey,
Thats what the Eastcoast ad said in my SMR magazine today. A bit mis leading? Yeah I think so. In my mind and any other person's mind a complete supermoto setup would include wheels and brakes. But my reality tells me it's rims, spokes and a sticker.

I don't like that much misleading advertising in my reads. I dont know though maybe I'm wrong and it does include what is generally thought of as a complete setup.

Chime in folks; what would you expect from a Complete Supermoto Setup?

You know there are sportsman's classes where you just put street rubber on the stock rims, that costs about $200.

A lot of stuff.East Coast is doing just what everyone else does that is in the retail business.Their ads are intended to get you to contact them and from there they might hit on a big sale.A set of wheels and tires is always the first step or was for me.It all depends on what bike you start with.
There is no East Coast ad in this issue - nice try

We haven't placed ANY ad in this issue...

I'm going to contact the magazine to find out what you are talking about...

The new issue isn't even printed yet... The magazine just contacted me to see if we were going to put anything in...

It almost looks like you wanted to start a "public flaming" of us over deceptive advertising... (If there is nothing there - you are bordering on an issue with legal implications - YOU may be paying for everyone's "COMPLETE SUPERMOTO SETUP for $500.00)

BTW, thank you for all the phone calls you generated...

So you read the ad, found something that looked odd to you, didn't contact Eastcoast to confirm your thoughts and then posted a complaint about it here? Did I get that right? Cheeky monkey.

I have a speedo on my bike that tells me I'm faster than I am, fake fat in my lunch chips, artifical sugars that taste sweet but cant be absorbed by my system, a girlfriend that likes push-up bras and wears colored contacts for fun, and I'm surrounded by women here in So.Cal with fake racks. Lies lies everywhere. I can live with it.
Sure looks like there is an agenda here :hmmm: :hmmm:

Where is the ad? I haven't seen it...

:lame:
I'm sorry, that's my mistake. I looked and it's Motostrano on Page 18/19. It wasn't an intention to flame Eastcoast or anyone. Just wanted to bring attention to an ad that I thought was misleading, hoping someone could shed light on it. If it brought you guys (Eastcoast) more calls then good! I've actually ordered from Mototrano and was happy with it and for the record would have no problem ordering from either of you. No agenda, just looking for the best deal in a free market economy.
Dang Jeff, you get flamed even when you didn't do anything!

$500 or not, ECW is the best deal in town if you're short on cash.
Jeff,
Hope this will in no way affect the structural intergrity of my spokes to rim interface when I purchase a set from you. ;(
I don't have the add in front of me, but I'm guessing it says "complete supermoto setups from $500" or something to that effect.

The motostrano web site lists their "Supermoto Conversion Kits" here:

http://www.motostrano-store.com/sucoki.html

They range from $500 for the "Sportsman" kit:

http://www.motostrano-store.com/susprakit.html

On up to $3,450 for the "Pro Racer Kit":

http://www.motostrano-store.com/suprorakit.html

In my mind, that $500 kit is everything a new racer needs to get started in the sport, and then some. Who says you have to spend a shit load of money just to get out on the track and try it out? When I started out I bought a set of used dual-sport tires off a friend for $80 bucks and hit the track. I didn't win any races that weekend, but I was hooked. That's the beauty of supermoto.

Well, for starters: ported head, cams, piston, Ti exhaust, slipper clutch, full suspension work with lowering, wheels, hubs, spokes, brake rotors, calipers, master, bodywork, triple clamps, bars, grips, hand guards, and a shorter pit stand since it's lowered. :laughingr :hammer:

:hmmm: Lessee, I think I have extra $500 laying around for that. :D

Dude, you forgot the fender stickers! ;)
Good answer, good answer. That's exactly what I thought. But I contacted and got the skinny. The sportsman kit below:

No Problem Michelangelo... :D

I knew we didn't offer complete Wheels for $500 (yet ;) ) The thread really came across to me as trying to start a flame thread...

No problems...

Be sure to watch 2 WHEEL TUESDAY in either late June or early July... We'll be on it !!

Right! Yer right, but I figured that any company worth its salt would toss in a few stickers when I laid out that $500 for the complete setup. :thefinger

Hey, that kit comes with Vrecksler's stickers!
Well then Eastcoast....be sure to let me know when you do sell a wheel kit for that price! But hey, while you're looking; How much would rims, spokes and a front rotor w/ bracket run if I sent you my stock hubs? '94 XR250R!
