Aloha,

I have a 2004 KTM 625 SMC.

Its current gearing is 15/42. I am changing it to 16/38.

Needless to say the chain will now be too long. It currently has 54 links not including the master.

What length will I need for a 16/38 gearing set up. Or how many links do I need to remove?

Thanks
Eric B

Not the easiest way, but you can throw the chain on it with the wheels and new sprockets and crank the adjusters in like you were adjusting the chain. Then, fold the chain in the middle (holding it tight), count the links and then remove the chain and cut them off. It would be a little guess and test, but you dont want to cut too many. You can always cut more.

Hope this helps.
