So after lusting after a 690SMC, til I realized there were none to be had, and then looking and being scared away from a SXV 4.5, I ended up with this..

Just brought it home today.. Have yet to ride it!

Once you get past the capuccino issue with the Apes they're not so bad. You might want to look into inspection intervals on the Berg. Bottom end in particular I believe. They're hardly the bullet proof alternative to an SXV.

Congrats though. :D

Gotta love Bergs... Not really the same kind of bike if you had your sights set on a 690 SMC though...

Just a tad more maintenance.......... They freakin' rip though!!!

Congrats.............

Yeah.. I did the reading and realised this will also need racebike like maintenance.. I'll probably be racing it as well so that's fine.. The reason I ended up going for it is the simplicity. Single and carburated = less dealer time and labor :) (at least hopefully)

is that an 08 model?
"2008 models will come with Ti mufflers"
that would be cool!
The graphics say it's an 07.
No titanium muffler on the 08 as stock but here in Sweden we get a sweet discount on the akra slipon, which is ti, when purchasing a new bike.

Fixed that on the 07 model. I like the idea of a model at the end of it's development comapred to the start as in the SXV. But i will be getting an SXV next.

Best choice out of the lot. Better to go for a bike at the end of development then a bike at the start like the SMC and SXV.

It is missing the extra 100cc but we all can't have it our way.

it's look likes a new one, these bikes produced in the KTM factory, cause KTM bought the whole Husaberg a few years ago, it's a racebike with headlight, but she's a lot more reliable than the earlier 'bergs, good luck with this bike, very good one

I hate to say it but I just passed up a 690 SMC at the Lancaster shop in Texas. It is still sitting there and I am sure they would take less than dealer invoice for it. I chose the Husky over the KTM. I have owned both a KTM 525 SM and a 950 adventure, both of which were maintenance HOGS and had too many little quirks for me to enjoy. By reading other posts on this board it is apparent that the 690 is no different. I don't know much about the bergs but you probably made a good choice. Thing looks BAD ASS!!
