I took the plunge and ordered up a set of Avon Distanzia's for my 02 DR650SE. I've been assured numerous times I can run these tubeless tires with tubes. I'm running the sportsman setup- ie 90-90/21F 130-80/17R...

What kind of tire pressures should I start with for street riding? Any special instructions for the folks spooning the tires on?

Proper tire pressures correspond to weight loading.

Solo dirt riding 26-28psi.

Solo street riding 32-34psi.

Passenger or lots of luggage 34-37psi.

Maximum load rating max pressure instructions are stamped on the tire sidewall.

Start with mid 20s and adjust to suit. I did about 20 rear and a bit more front on my 650l. You can feel some wallow at 17-22 but grip is much better. Wear is much worse.

I basically just order the same setup, only an 18" rear for my 650r. I'm coming from Gripsters so I will be interested the compare the two.

I run 25 lbs on my DRZSM with Distanzias, I just put my second rear on and got over 3k miles out of it. It was down to bars on the sides but not in the center!
I do spend a lot of time really working the corners trying to keep up with the barf dudes!:D
Or maybe I just have NO POWER!
No, BOTH!
