took my s501 out yesterday, no it didnt spit its guts she was perfect, just tried to start her but no joy tried the usual fuel in carb, spark at the plug, any ideas before i start stripping thinks down and cheaking v clearances ect thanks

Hi.

My suggestion based on what you've said and on my own experience with my 570 race bike would be to check the stator windings. I replaced mine with one from 'Electrex' in the UK after i found it had failed with similar symptoms.

Yep! I would agree.

If it has not gone bang or shit itself I would be looking at the stator.

The old SEM units that were fitted (also to Bergs) were notorious for breaking down due to excess heat.

You can check the resistance with a multimeter. Go to Husaberg's web site and down load the workshop manual for a pre 2004 Berg FSe650 and it will give you the correct resistance readings across the relevant wires.
