Hello all! greetings from Morgan Hill, CA. I made the mistake of posting my first time in the Street Tech section instead of here. I've been thinking of motards for a couple of years now, but sat on a Husky 450SMR at the new bike show two nights ago. This idea is now on the front burner. My commuter is an '02 ZX-12R and I gave my wife my '01 ZX-6R (she got her license earlier this year.) Been riding for 16 yrs now. Like a lot of other noob's I'm also in the DRZ400SM vs Husky 450 SMR fix.
I live 20 miles (by freeway) from a 65 mile long twisty 2 lane road (Mt. Hamilton) that I've been riding for a long time and want something light, but with enough zoom to be fun. Sat on the Husky and was amazed. I was hoping to get under 330lbs wet and this bike clears it.
The DRZ didn't make it to the new bike show and the Suzuki guys were less than helpful.
In any case, I'm enjoying this forum and am psyched to see how many locals are on it.
