I am in the process of building a 87 Honda CR500 motard. (I am having a the stock hubs laced to 17" wheels). I took the rear wheel off a year ago and removed spokes/rim. When I mount the hub on the rear axle, with the new MSR spacers (new spacers are the same width as the originals), there is approx. 3/4" of side to side movement of the hub on the axle. When I torque the axle nut, the hub still moves side to side approx. 3/16" Also, it doesn't seem right that the swingarm should bend/flex this much when tightening the axle nut. Is something missing? Any ideas?? Thanks for the help!

Did you replace the bearings in your hub?

Your 100% the new spacers are the same width and have the same ID?

You didn't forget anything when you installed the rear wheel (washers)?

All redundant questions, but you probably just forgot something.

Not an issue anymore!

Boy do I feel stupid. I looked at the service one more time and then it hit me. I forgot the biggest thing that assembles to the rear axle - the disc brake mounting bracket! which is about 5/8" thick. Now the rear hub fits as it should. Must be getting old. Thanks for all the input.
