The time is coming for me to make the first oil change on my new SMC 690. Where do you recommend I get the filters? The dealer I bought the bike from is 3hrs away. Should I see if a local shop has them (or can order them)? Or is there a place online that will ship them to me?

Also, I know there is going to be a lot of personal opinion on this one, but what oil do you recommend I use? Thanks!
you can order them from my dealership and we'll ups them to ya. we have them in 2 packs so it'll be enough for 2 oil changes. you'll have them next day since you are in NY. :D

and i recommend you use the motorex crosspower 4t 10w60. expensive... but good stuff.

Alrighty. Sounds good. Are the filters KTM brand, or K&N or something? As for the oil...nothing but the BEST for my new KTM! I'll probably give you guys a call some time tomorrow or Tuesday...if that's the best way to go about it...

How much do filters generally cost?
call me tuesday, we are closed tomorrow.

don't be scared when you hear the prices. i can't remember what exactly list was right now(i obviously get a deal). if i remember right it's about $30-35 for the pack of 4 filters(2 of each).

and yes they are the KTM filters.

this is the part number and pricing for a gallon of the oil(the qt's are on backorder right now) 3601-0108 - 10W60, 4 liter(gal) - $62.95.

i can get you the oil for you too, or any dealer that deals with parts unlimited can get it for ya. up to you.
