Anyone else have a hole in their cylinder of a brand new 701 SM? Leaked coolant everywhere- took it to the shop and there’s a hole in the cylinder. Unbelievable!! Owned 2 dozen Japanese bikes and never had 1 problem much less a hole in a cylinder at 600 miles.
Blown head gaskets on KTM street thumpers (NOT dirt bikes) are common. KTM's head machining sucks. It's been more of a problem on the 390's than the 690's, but not unheard of on the 690's.
If you do have an actual hole in the cylinder, well hey that's a new one. Let us know. Just another reason of many to stay away from KTM based street bikes. I love them but the quality isn't there.
Maybe some day the Huskies will use their own engines.
Dealer told me they had to order a new cylinder because there was a hole in it
