taping them can still result in melting of the turn signal

you can search the forum, there are a couple threads on alternative locations, small brackets made to mount them, no drilling or alteration....and as far as taping off the stock connectors if you elect no to have the turn signals on, not needed, its a connector, just leave it up inside the rear brake light area, ain't going anywhere and can't short out

mine isn't melted, i had some thick woven stuff on there, but still warped slightly....so just moved the signals which is too easy
