cover the back side lower portion with aluminum heat tape. doesn't look that bad or noticeable really and has seemed to pretty much prevent any major problems.

in my case, i am kinda hoping when i get my slip-on that it will kinda solve the problem. if so i will warranty a signal so i have a brand new one and be all set. i actually don't mind the look of the stock signals and don't plan changing them out unless i end up having to.

i have 1500 miles on mine. i taped the back side of the signal and my signal is still fine.

the clear portion of my lense is clouding up and changin color so I've relocated the signals. the heat tape works but you would have to cover the lense too.

yes the signal bubbled and clouded up a tiny bit the first day i had but it hasn't gotten any worse since.

That would definitely work. Everyone whose light hasn't melted, I'll be the first to say that it's probably just a matter of time until it does. I hope that KTM will warranty them because they aren't cheap. I bought just the lense and the retail price is $23.79 excluding the mount and blinker/ wiring.

I wonder if the brains behind this design still has a job with KTM, must have been thought up first thing on a Monday morning or the last thing on a Friday evening.

if you paid $23.79 for just the lens then you just got ass raped. the lens itself retails for only $3.93. the whole turn signal with the wiring is only $16.16 retail. i just looked it up myself on the dealer site.

I paid $20.69, 15% off retail at the dealer. I'll have to check that out and raise hell with them b/c that sure is an ass raping if it's true. 600% up charge. What site did you check and what are the part #'s. post a link if you don't mind.

i work for a dealer so i have access to the dealer site. i have off from work today but i went on from home because i knew that part didn't cost that much and i figured i'd give you the correct price. i went on, looked up the 690smc and all that. i can't give you a link but those ARE the retail prices on the lens and on the whole assembly.

I had mine replaced...The box had $17 on the KTM sticker. I belive you :infrandom poked. My dealer took care of the cost :thumbup:

17 for the whole signal or just the lens?
