Ok, this may be a stupid question but what the heck. With the engine off and the bike in gear I pull the clutch lever all the way in and the bike is still in gear, it won't roll and wants to turn the engine over. The strange part is the clutch seems to work ok while the engine is running. Is this normal or is the clutch just dead? Any help is much appreciated.

Strange you mention this issue. My friends GSXR750 does the same thing.

Try it when you engin is warm and see what happens.

clutch drag common and can sometimes be relieved by adjusting the cable. other times it could be warped plates. Also sitting the plates may stick together when clutch released then when pulled in they are still tacky from oil and if the engine isnt running it may not be enough to allow it to 'disengage' the plates and fibers.

but a majority of bikes do this to an extent if its excessive or you are getting clutch slippage i wouldnt worry about it. sounds like its just fine maybe adjust the clutch cable some and ride!
