So, I talked to my guy at the cycleworld motorcycle show.

he says they're gonna get SMC's in Feb, or March? So I told him I was more than interested.


Can anyone confirm that the 05's have the new dual exhaust? I know the frame is suppose to be black.. whatelse does the 05 have going for it..

I've seen a pic, but can't seem to find a whole lot writting about the differences, or more important.. AVALIBILITY! (other than chrome's superfat insite)

I knew Chrome ordered one a while back.. to complement his 04 *cough cough bastard cough*

they didn't have any in seattle at the show.

I"d love to see a 360 view of the bike.. from the back, etc etc..

this is about all I can find pic wise.

I also "heard" that they weren't bringing them over due to weaker US dollar...
I also "heard" they weren't gonna bring any at all...
BUT I heard Chrome ordered one..

I've also read that if they do bring any over it will be like 25, or 50 or some rediculious number..

the '05 does in fact have the dual exhaust. and it looks ace! i believe the gauge cluster - if you can call it that - is different as well (which you can't see in the pic on the ktm site).

my g/f keeps telling me to hold onto the duke, though...she likes the look of the orange paint better (it's metallic-y on the duke...plain orange on the smc).
i'm not a fan of the orange either way, so it really doesn't make much difference to me...

Dual exhausts? Nah, not for me. Just more weight to add to the bike. And if you thought an Akropo system was expensive for one, hw about two of them?!

def. dual fo sho.....KTM has a habit with there recent duals to sweep the can up really tight against the rest of the bike.......

Correct :clap: ! The price this year will be @$7500 and that is mostly due to the dollar v. euro.

There was enough demand to bring over a handfull of 625smc's and 640adv.(@$8500). I think it was a good move by KTM to bring them because without those models they would only have one street legal bike out of the box :headscrat . I just hope I can get my hands on one :thumbup: ! The new dealer in Detroit may or may not get any allocated to them because they are a new dealer. The other dealers that are local were new in the spring so I doubt they will get any. Oh well, ROAD TRIP !!

That will be good for me when I go to sell my very-low miles 04... (I am planning on moving and buying a house early next year. It'll be a SAD day!) A lighter, single-pipe bike for $2,000 less than the new one, would sound good to me...

Have you sold the '04 SMC yet? What does the 660 conversion entail? Is it boring or stroking or both?

I really like the '05 SMC too! If I hadn't bought my '04 for only $4700, I'd probably be looking to get one myself.

Hell yeah that thing is sweet with the dual akras :thumbup: . The 660 kit is done by a company in Arizona. They take your cylinder as a core charge and ship you a new overbored cylinder and high comp piston.
