This Blows, literally!
Would you be pissed if this happened to you or am I over reacting...
So I go out to my bike this morning and notice they blew all the f'ing leaves in my parking lot in a big pile right behind my DRZ which is locked to my truck. As I get closer I realize that my truck is covered in mud, leaves, little pebbles, basically everything from the road. Then I go to unlock my bike from my truck and realize it's even more covered in shit. I am talking caked on mud, leaves, and little rocks, in every crack, on my new brake pads, chain, plastics, forks, etc.
I then call the management company for my apartment complex and they couldn't give a shit... so I said I would call the cops and they started to care but said to take it up with the landscaping company.
So I talk to the landscaping company dude and he didn't think it was that big of a deal and said he would reimburse me for a car wash.
It's bad enough my truck looks like I went mud bogging, but not my f'ing bike!

Good idea... and it's funny because I said to the landscaping dude, "I don't know if you ride, but getting my rims scratched up really pisses me off", and he said, yeah I ride but I ride dirt... I said it is a dirt bike, it's a DRZ400!

Well since he "rides" i would kindly ask for his address and go return the favor on his bike. Wich is likely allready a p.o.s.

Man, what a coincidence! Just yesterday I took my bike out to wash it, and I'm bringing it back to the garage and I notice the worker guys blowing the f*ck out of the leaves and dust everywhere. We have a big garage fits about 150 cars from about 70 tenants... Every week the guys blow the dust everywhere, but the dust doesn't go anywhere, it just rises and falls again on all the cars...

Call your insurance company and ask what you should do. Maybe they'll send someone to give you an estimate. Present the estimate to the landscaping company and have them pay for it. If not, bring them and the afformentioned document to court, I bet you'd win no problem.

cut and pasted from the scratched Excels thread:
"let me say the BIGGEST reason people like these style of bikes is you can ride them where ever you want, you can throw them on the pavement and pick them up and continue. This is what the bikes are designed for, you don't have $1,000's in plastic body work that gets F'd up in every lowside. Scratches happen, it's part of the game. You can't sweat the small stuff, it'll just give you a heart attack. IDK if you're married or have kids, but as angry as you have gotten with us I can only imagine you've brought the anger out at home and work. I feel bad for your family, your co-workers, and anyone else who has felt your wrath from this incident.
Is it right they scratched your rims, no, is worth getting that upset about? HELL NO! Scratched rims aren't an oddity, you're not the only one who this has happened to, but you are the only one making such a big deal out of it."

The point is, if you scratch your own rims, no biggie. But if anyone else scratches your rims (and truck), they should pay.

Does it suck that his bike got dirty, YES.
Is it a good idea to freak out about it, NO.
Contacting insurance company and going to court so our rates go up, not a good idea. The landscaper who makes $7 bucks per hour does not care he just wants to get his job done. I would be pissed and head down to the local car wash and forget about it and ride.

If he gets an estimate and takes the landscaper to court, it wont be doing anything to his insurance. Our rates wont go up, the rates for the Landscaping company (they should have insurance, this is what its for) will. Our rates go up with the large amount of idiots that think they can ride fast and usually crash because they didnt take their time or learn how to ride. This is a property damage case, not a moving violation or crash. I wouldnt freak out, I'd just get some advice from my insurance company and take it from there.

When I use my leaf blower at my house, (constantly this time of year) I won't blow toward my truck or my GF's car - I move them far away before I start blowing. Pebbles blown via leaf blower are large sand blasters and it COULD do what I would call real damage.
What I'm saying is, the guy running the leaf blower and covering your truck and bike with crap has NO respect for others' property and I'd be willing to bet he would not do that to HIS vehicle (if he had a decent ride).
As for what to do about it, I'd go to the landscape company's owner or at least the on site manager and say, nicely, "please ask your employees to NOT blow crap onto my bike/truck." The OWNER of the company (not the schlep running the blower) is likely to "get it" and the problem will be solved. If it happens after that, and your stuff gets damaged well.... that's been covered I think. Good luck!

Thats tough, I might have to have a chat with the landscaper as he rolls through, I gave my guy a twelve pack and told him to try and keep the shit off my bike and that thing was spotless every time. Since they already disrespected the ride I might say waiting for him with a strong warning and a hint of violence might be the way to go, deffinately not cool of them either way but I dont think legal action is the way to go.

Yep, I agree a pointless battle....I'd be pissed as well... so here is a suggestion...get a cheap bike cover that straps around the wheel/tires...solves two problems...keeps the bike clean, of coarse but also takes your bike out of those future crooked wandering eyes....you know the type....the guy who cannot keep his hands off others shit...might prevent sumthin happening in the future...

Common sense, the golden rule, these things we speak of have been thrown out the window... You have to ask yourself, am I a human being; or a human doing? I don't care what wage your getting, "what the hell were you thinking".

Yes I would have been pissed and you have every right to be too
I think that if you have any kind of damage you should seek compensation (legal or not…)
And if that is unobtainable I would have probably seek revenge like taking a blower to the owners car and calling the INS on the “cleaning crew” but that’s just me (I’m in to that whole “eye for an eye” thingy…)
To be serious here for a second,
the best advise I can give you is
make damn sure you do everything within your power
to get out of the apartment complex and get your self your own house
I lived once in an a apartments and I’ll do a lot to not have to do it again
I love my house and my Husky loves my garage…..

man i wouldn't worry much about dirt and pebbles on a dirt bike! u said it ur self it's a dirt bike it's ment to get dirty. hell i took my cr500 (not a supermoto yet... completely illegal) road it around the local neighborhoods and tore up the ditches after a few weeks of rain storms. came back, with mud everywere, the front sprocket couldn't move anymore cause thats how much mud their was. took 5bucks to clean it with a power washer and it's still not clean!
heres what i would do, if the guy with the blower is the usual guy that does it every morning or w/e. i would go over their and have a little chat with him, asking him nicely but firmly not to blow shit towards ur truck and bike. u know just have a conversation with the guy bring up ur points and settle with him resonably, maybe he had a bad day and shit went south with him! u never know, so take it easy.
second i would find the owner or the head honcho of the business and have a conversation with him and ask him to remind his employees to be more mindful of other people stuff and to be more careful!
third i would get a cover for my bike, just put a large tarp over it, that way it covers the bike from shit like that, and stops luring eyes on ur bike!
then when the guy comes back around, give him a six pack and thank him for not messing up ur stuff! just be a little generous with people, their just trying to make a living and to them they just want to get the damn job done in a timely mannor! show a little compasion.
i worked in construction with my dad for years and we hated taking stuff to the dump cause it was a waste of time, and we had to rack up miles on our vehicles and we only got payed for gas and the dumping charges. so we talked with our local garbage men, gave them a 12 pack and they took our shit away! so now when we have a big garbage pile of junk, we give them $20 or a pack of beer and help them throw it in the truck! then on holiday we give them a little present and thank them for throwing our garbage away. best of all we always have our garbage gone, no matter how much we put out, our neighbors refuse to pay them cause thats what taxes are for, and half their shit isn't taken away!
just saying talk to the guys, their just trying to make a living and so are u. so give them a gift and thank them for doing the work, and talk to them. just like its a good idea to get too know ur neighbors its the same with the people who work around ur property!

Thanks for all the advice guys. I cleaned up the truck and bike and there are some chips, more on the truck than the bike. If anything I hope my conversation with the landscaping boss will make a difference.
I can't wait to have a house with a garage!

Be careful. Once you have a garage there's all kinds of stuff you wanna put in it.

ya when u own a garage u want to fill it fast, and u start loosing room for ur bike. plus ur significant other wants stuff in their too... so i suggest maring a territory for ur bike! a nice large box of tape on the garage floor always work!

this is the best suggestion. if this goes no where. Start taking shits on the lawn or smearing turds on anything / everything the landscapers physically have to handle ( like sprinkler access panels,etc..etc.. )

That shit has pissed mehoff too. We have a bunch of illegal’s blowing our parking lot at work. I came out to find my Sumo covered in parking lot dust, rat bastards couldn’t even blow off my bike. Fkers, The next time they came I had a good talk with them about No Bueno bitches, I’ll tear up you visa rip off your head and crap down your neck. Needless to say it didn’t work as they are different flying burrito brothers from the front of Home Depot every week. Now I just say F it and don’t ride on Tuesdays. But yah, I know what you mean!

The thing is, I used to have a garage when I rented a house for a while, and I would come home from work, eat dinner, grab some beers and head into the garage. Sometimes I would just stare at my bike (it was a Ducati), drink beer, and smoke cigs. Needless to say my girlfriend didn't like it very much but I loved it.
I like Deadend's suggestion to start taking shits on the lawn or smearing turds on anything / everything the landscapers physically have to handle, and HuskyRascal's suggestion to tear up their visa's, rip off their heads and crap down your necks. I think they go well together.
