    That hunk of high grade pure aluminum is probably few hundred by itself... even prior to CNC.

    I actually have that exact helmet excpet in red for riding strictly street.

    It is nowhere near that BMW helmet. It is comfortable, quiet, and cool looking, but it is also the heaviest helmet I have ever worn. Looking at the specs it is at least twice as heavy as the BMW helmet. Also if it is actually carbon fiber its there only for show and not used as the primary basis for the helmet.
