Exclamation Florida Supermoto IS Offering Bridgestone contingency for 2010

We are working the details out on the contengency for the tire brand, and a KILLER price for the tires. Stay tuned

    Here is a question though....

...What if we wanted to go to a Spec tire for 2011 in the PRO class or other classes? Just kicking it around....
    Any thoughts?

I was just thinking about buying a set. I ran dunlops last season, but they are just way to expensive for me. Let me know how $$ and where, because I need a set before the first race!

Thanks for the effort Larry with the tires. That's good news.

I like the idea of a spec tire, especially if it were Bstone. I think that's a perfect choice. A great, affordable tire.
If it were Dunlop, there'd be resistance because of the price. If it were Shinko, there'd be resistance because of the performance.

I don't know if I'd make the Pro class the spec tire class. Guys there will want to run everything from Dunlops to Bstones to Michelin to Pirelli's...etc.

But perhaps the Vet class, or the Novice class would be a good spot for it. Something not as edgy as the Pro Class.

And come hell or high water...you will see me in 2010.

Spec tire rule... I like the idea, it seems that it would only work in the Pro class. Smaller grids, higher pay outs, those guys run much faster, more prepared mechanically etc..

The support classes would seem to possibly be harder to police the spec tire rule. Most of the guys that race those classes, are not as experienced or commited to supermoto racing.. Yet!! The guy that has built his bike over the winter looking forward to doing a couple of races this coming season, might have just blown his wad building his bike .. Therefore, just might have bought another brand of tire.

Ive been running, the Metzeler Drifts. They've been decent but ive been planning on making the switch to the "stones" for a while now..

Larry, whatever you guys decide for this coming season is fine with me I'll eventually be on the stones regardless.. Thanks for all yall's hardwork on making the series better

That's very cool Larry. But just as FYI, I was able to buy same tires from So Cal location for $180....not sure if they can tweak pricing any more? Did have to pay shipping, which was around $20. I'm really looking forward to the 2010 season and appreciate all the hard work you are putting into this series!

Just wondering whitch tires did you buy for $180 and how old were they.I am working on some details to get the ALL NEW DUNLOP SM only tires to distribute in the South East, possably with good countigency as well. I was not too pleased about the Bridgestone deal.We should be able to sell the Dunlops for the same price or cheeper.Ill make sure I get the BEST TIRE at the BEST PRICE.

Oh, you meant real Supermoto tires. Seeing as nothing is going to fit my WR250X, maybe I need to upgrade. Seriously, thanks for all the work to promote the sport and take care of everyone. '09 was a struggle making it to the track, but it looks like I'll definitely be out as much as possible this season.

I spoke to Kirk last week and he is ready to help out with our needs until there is a Distributor on the east coast...

This is a strange issue. I run Bridgstone 12" tires. They are unavailable from Bridgstone USA (believe me iv tried). I import my tires (as a dealer) from Bridgstone Japan. Could i still get contingency? They are simply the BEST mini tire on the market and id still continue to run them ether way..... Just curious.

Id love to get this Bridgstones state side, but iv heard that for years. I have a friend at Bridgstone and for some reason Bridgstone is not interested in selling them in the States. Id love to be proven wrong as im tired of paying $360 for 12" tires. Let me know what info you find out! Thanks again Larry!

I think I can shed a little light on the subject for you.The word is they are bringing in 400 12 in tires in a couple of mo.If they sell well there will be more to follow.no word on the price yet but Im sure they will be way less than you pay now.Hope this helps you.

Thanks Phil. My buddy at Bridgstone told me that it may* happen but he said dont be surprised if it dose not. I do hope it happens though. Usually when Bridgstone rarely imports the tires they only import the Medium compounds and not the Soft or Hards. I wish they imported a lot and multiple compounds. $180 for shipping on $160 set of tires is hard on the wallet.

Getting the tires is not this issue, just wondering about contingency. That would be pretty sweet!

Thanks Phil. Keep me posted if you hear of a Bridgstone shipment. They are truly the best 12" tire available and are worth every penny. The best grip hands down for a 12" tire.
