So I have this flat slide carb on a CR250, and I never tried adjusting the needle setting before on one.
What's up with the end of the throttle cable that goes inside the slide? First off, the carb spring seems attached inside the hole at the bottom. I'm don't know if it is supposed to be like that, or should I be able to pull the spring up away from the needle?
At any rate, I have the other end of the throttle cable separated from the throttle assembly but I can't get any love from this carb.
Even if I could get the spring up, inside it looks like there is no slot out of which I can get the end of the throttle cable free and away from the slide.
Does anybody understand what I'm trying to say, and can you offer help?
Ok, I got my answer. You should be able to gather up the spring from inside the hole, and also a plastic sleeve that surrounds the brass hex-head screw. In my case, the spring was wedged in tight between the cracked plastic sleeve and the aluminum housing of the slide. Turning the spring while pulling unlocked it. Then I could gather it up, and release the end of the throttle cable from the slide. That was easy (not).
