Default question for anyone that can fab stuff?

i'm wanting a front light bar/ safari guard setup for my new ride. no one makes one that fits, but there's bound to be some decent mounting points for something simple and fairly light.

somethin like this would be rad:

anybody got the skills and tool to make this happen?

I wish I could help you, actually I'd just love to have the kind of skills to do that stuff!

But, if you find yourself needing to go to a shop to get work done, make a call to Jed, at: http://www.armorology.com/
He's been doing custom fab work for at least 10 years now. I've know him since he started out of his moms garage, and he build custom bumpers and roll cage for my jeep. The work he did back then was awesome. The stuff he does now is out of this world.

Im not the best in fab work. You said you live in the big Co,Dollar trees/to deer are lrg that. You gotta look into a HD bumper. Not massive.Thick you know like a brick house woman. There are alot of ideas.Your 71 has a flat frt,w/round sides.Id use 1"sq tube turned 45 degrees top mid and lower bars 11 gauge.Uprights 1/4"X2"strap,The ends will take a lil work 2 ton press can make 2-1/2 sc40 pipe ovel to contuar the markers.
bumper wise guessing how the bumper looks,I use 8"11.5lbs channel.fit it up,45 the lower ends the add sides, lights, paint,& you got a bumper,grillegrd/light bar loaded for bear.weld the light mounts on the back of the middle tube.then look in to 4X6"HID's.

You arent allowed to use poop pipe. Or use a press to smash tubing in a backwoods attempt at notching. I thought chopsaw notching was bad, wow.

I dont know your background, but I dont see any posts where you put 4th any info other then what you got.You might take a few days off from the M.E.position you have, and hangout at your locol steel yard.Be it ranchhand, curry, roadarmor,Or rough country. No one uses highend alloys. As far as backwood,Not everyone has a full on machine shop at hand.So you use what you have work with.

sweet! Can I come by and borrow your bender for a couple things. I need to make a bumper for my truck and a light setup for my bike sometime.

I have most of the tools available at work and I'd be happy to fab something up for someone but the biggest limitation in the tools I have access to is lack of a tube bender.

I'll be around from december to march.

yeah thats how it goes. I have classes all summer and need to work for the winter. I'm a reverse snowbird apparently.

If the snow clears up early like last year I might make a trackday or two. Otherwise there is a track within 10 miles of my place in Az. Beats 3 hours in Co.
