Okay, trying to learn what I need to do here!
I've seen a set of xr400 sumo wheels and I was wondering if they would fit my 250.
I've got the clymer manual but it doesn't mention hub sizes etc.
What do I need to do to measure them?
Cheers
Hazy
One would assume you could measure rotor diameters and hub widths and make a pretty good determination based on that. Or you could google it.
they won't fit!

I don't remember exactly, but hubs etc are different enough that they can't fit and no ones making wheels for the XR250.

i like my women the way i like my vehicles....loud, rough and fast.
they should fit with manipulation. measure the id of the bearings in both and the width of the hubs. they should be pretty close i know some parts are interchangeable but not all. maybe you could borrow the wheels before paying for them to see if you can fit em up. measure with verniers to be sure!
dude do the work and make an animal that little boyz can't ride.....
make something, rather than an open the box bitch and the idea of harley god i think i would rather get raped by an elephant and a python

what upso you want to know about your exchange idear for the xr250 huh ??
not that hard just have to measure up for the new bearings for the xr axle go to you local bearing shop and they will hunt around for the correct internal diameter and external diameter to fit then get the bearning faces that need to accept the new out diameter if needed be thats only if you have size supply probs at the bearing shop, that need to match the new hub bearing course find and engineer if you are no good at machine work... and start asking them if you get stuck or come back to me![]()
They will work mate you just have to make it so...... but remember how to use the caliper as it is the best tool for the job for diameter and depth etc within micro mmthen you can roughly workout how you will need to machine faces and make spacers to place and lock everthing into place ..
you will see the shaped internal spacer that is between the two main wheel bearings on the dirt tyres you have,.. these will need to be remanufactured longer for the new mags you chooseuse the caliper to work the deep of spacer by dropping it through down to the inner internal bearing lobe upto the top opposite bearing face to get the correct size. This spacer acts as the main structure between the two bearings which the forks clamp through to mount the mag.
just bread and butter really ......
happy hunting mc22 6 spokes with cush are the go i would think for your application ....![]()
