    Default Clutch hydraulic oil missing

anybody's clutch had problems like this before..? i opened up my clutch reservoir/master cylinder (for the hydraulic) n there's no oil in it. the oil has never been changed n i've had d bike for a year n a half. plus-minus from that 5 months of zero usage. when was i supposed to do maintenance for it..? i always do early servicing but i never do it myself, the bike shop that i bought if from does it. (cant go elsewhere coz of d 2yr warranty). after checking, i dont see any leaks or tampering that could have drained out my clutch hydraulic oil.

The seal on the slave cylinder piston is probably shot. It's a known weak point. A new o or x ring is a cheap fix but it'll happen again.

A better aftermarket slave piston is available here. http://7602racing.com/prod_clutch_piston.php

I've not done it on my Husqvarna but have on my GasGas woods bike. Follow the clutch hose down and it'll connect to the slave cylinder down by the countershaft sprocket. The slave cylinder is held in place by three fasteners. The piston with the o-ring can then be pulled out. I'm guessing you'll find that the o-ring is flat on top and no longer doing a good job of sealing. Carefully inspect the bore that the piston rides in. It should be perfectly smooth but unfortunately I've heard that the bore gets buggered up by the piston. If so, the replacement piston I gave a link to is the only long-term solution other than replacing the entire slave cylinder (which Husqvarna might do if it's still under warranty).

There are no "how to" threads on this repair because it's so easy to do and is no different than every other bike out there with a hydraulic clutch. The toughest part is finding suitable repair parts, finding mineral oil to replace the lost fluid, and getting it 100% bled when you're done. In my experience it's easier to bleed than a front brake so if you can do that, you can do the slave cylinder.
