Default Black or carbon exhaust guards on SMC?

I'm really tempted to get some carbon exhaust guards for my SMC. I think the silver sticks out too much. Or I could just paint them black- but that'll probably scratch up.

KTM hard parts has them for $300 :ouch:

Also found these for $146 plus shipping from a site sponsor:

    Any ideas?

If you have the Akrapovic exhaust... get the carbon fiber ones...Thoes look sick with that pipe.

    Just my 2 Cents.

Well I have the Wings exhaust with carbon tip like the akro, so carbon guards for me. I wonder who makes the KTM hard parts ones?

you're not gonne find anything a lot cheaper then that for new parts. CP has pretty competitive prices when it comes to carbon parts, only problem is the fact that he's in europe and you got to take the euro-dollar exchange rate into account.

BAB, the guy making those parts for CP pretty much breathes carbon so if you get em from that site you're truely getting quality stuff.

I actually have a spare brand new carbon fiber guard that was never mounted that I had shipped from Europe.

    I'll sell it for $65.

I went a different route. I agree, the stock silver ones stick out and look bulky. I think the carbon looks good, but also a bit bulky.

I decided on the Touratech guards. I like that they have a lower profile than the stock shape, and the cut outs take away the bulky appearance in my opinion. I have thought about painting them black or powder coating them, but for now I have left them alone.

nice. I went and ordered the hard parts carbon from munn. I'll post pics when I get home from deployment. Carbon performance was half the price, but the email address I gave them didn't get forwarded to me on the ship so I missed out- bummer.

Yes you did, but for reason it wasn't forwarded to the navy ship that I'm deployed on. So I missed out on this order, but if I order any more carbon, I'll get it from you.

    Thanks.
