    Default Bike Week Race

Us northern people would like to see a race happen during bike week. Something like what happened last year at Starke only during the week so we have something to do before flat track, superbikes, and supercross on the weekends. Say maybe on Wed. Larry........ can you help some brothers out????????

    Hello Starke here,
We can hold an Open Track Day for you's 'Northern People' who would like something to do during Bike Week. Either on Tuesday 2nd, Wednesday 3rd or Thursday 4th March 2010. We can have pavement and dirt from our Solo Track or we could use part of our Road Course which also accesses the dirt section.

Yeah, practice is good. But a race would be better.

larry, call the dog track in front of daytona speedway.
i believe they rent their parking lot out during bike week.
last year there was a few stunt shows!

just saying.... its a BIG parking lot and i think if enough volunteers helped, we could make a kick-ass track!

or look at st augustine speedway and run it kinda like 5 flags!

either way, you have the support of D&D!!!

ers is fun on a mini, but unless they open up the big track it pointless and boring on a big bike! the jumps are cool but the road section is first gear on a big bike.

maybe they could incorporate the actual car road course similar to jennings!

Is there another venue close to Daytona we could have one at during the week?

I don't know what course we raced on last year, but it was fun and the dirt section was huge. Seemed like the turnout was good too.

We have the option of the track we are running next week in Orlando, and they want to have a race. I am waiting to see how it goes next to week and go from there with the Orlando venue...

I'm in as well. Starke was fun, but would prefer something closer. It was just too far from everything else going on during the week.

YES, I was also offering part of our Road Course (big track) with the Dirt Section.
It would still be an Open Track Day though as long as we had enough entries. We are just over one hour from Daytona!
Any more ?'s, just ask me.

No way in hell that Starke is "just over one hour" from Daytona. Unless your talking about travelling by Helicopter. It is a really fun course. If there is practice I will probably attend, but not if it is the same day as the Supercross or the Dirt Track Races.

Starke has a dirt section? I was there last month, oh i did see a few grassy hills and some patches of dirt.....looked very over grown and poorly maintained.

The dirt section was really big. I'm mean long. It was very fun, there was even a triple that everyone doubled. But none the less it was still fun. I'm thinking Wed might be good for me. Ron any thoughts on a good practice day?

I just did a mapquest from starke to daytona beach. 2 hrs on the dot. I'm guessing you might be able to cut it down to 1hr 45min. Which is still 2hrs to me. Is there a underground tunnel noone knows about?

What about New Smyrna Speedway? I raced there in '07. The track was fun, and fairly safe( after they added the chicane on the front straight) It was set up similar to the Pensacola track. I think it was during bike week?? I remember there being ALOT of spectators.....
