when you need less than 2 quarts of oil i find it hard to justify not changing it every thousand miles lol. i know when i pick mine up saturday i will probably get a few quarts of yamalube and plan on changing it every 1000 miles. im going to be stunting it and i have always kept up with changing the oil often even on my 636 and it took a little over 4 quarts. it was a 50 dollar do it yourself oil change! cant wait to go get my 250

Change every once in a while, between 500-1,000 miles. I bought a pack of 5 or 6 hi flo filters and a bunch of oil. Doesn't cost much and easy as hell to do.

For a while I was abusing the snot out of the 250 so I changed it every 300 or so. But usually it's once a month whether it needs it or not.
