Default Beaverun open practice Sunday 11-01-2009

12:00 pm to 4:30 pm. I haven't touched my bike all year so this will be my first one this season. Better late than never. It's the last scheduled practice of the season. Hopefully we'll see a few of you out there.

Call (724) 535-1000 . I called them earlier this week and they told me it was open. It will probably be split sessions if there are kart groups but they said karting has been pretty light lately. I always confirm before I go but you do have a long haul. There are at least 3 counting me plus maybe some others. 54 degrees and mostly sunny.

I called today and they are on for tomorrow. The track opens earlier for an event on the big circuit but the kart track practice starts at 12 and will run to about 4:30 or 5:00. Maybe they will let us on a little earlier. Weather is 54 degrees mostly sunny with no rain.

Gonna be hard since alot of the supermoto guys will be at Allsports tomorrow. I'd be in if I wasn't going there.

Hey, still wondering about gear? What does everyone else wear or what is acceptable. I dont have a full suit all I have is my textile jacket, gloves, boots and helmet. Does anyone know if this is ok or not?

Thanks, I got them both. I should be good to go then.

My bike is fuel injection (wr250x) so as far as I know, I dont have any fuel overflow lines, but is there any others I should be looking for like oil or something?

Also, can you get gas as the track or do I need to bring additional?

They have race gas but it's pretty expensive. Reasonably priced considering it's at a race track but our bikes don't really need it anyway so it's your call. I can spot you some if you don't have a can. Gas lines seem to be the main one. Radiator overflow and oil breather lines also. If your bike is street legal it may have a coolant recovery bottle so you won't need one for the overflow. If you decide to put water in I have some water wetter for the cooling system. Check for crankcase breather lines etc. I've found that shampoo sample bottles and some wire or zip ties work well. They aren't real strict about it but you don't want to piss anybody off or hurt someone either. If you aren't completely set just take it easy to ensure you don't crash and you'll be fine. Call tomorrow if you want. I'm going to bed now. Gotta finish my oil change in the am.

does the beave do sumo open track days or just practice. I have been on the big track with the R6 but next year I would like to play on the kart track with the dr650.
the beave is about 3 hours from me.

I dont know about open sumo days, but today we got on a lot, and it was only $25. We alternated with the kart people, and got several 15-20 minute sessions in.

I filled up my tank before the start of the day, and had about 60 miles on the odo after we finished. Thats a lot of mileage on that tight little track. I was exhausted but it was extremely fun even though I was the slowest out of the four that of us that were out there.

They do supermoto only pavement only practice, pavement only mixed with kart practice and pavement dirt combined supermoto only practice. Check the schedule next year, they had a sm only practice today but I couldn't go. Glad you had fun bartlett see you next year there more.
