Default (Pics!) New Scorpion Carbon Fiber Exhaust

This took over 6 weeks to arrive in the mail but I finally got it hooked up.

The look and sound is awesome! Note the straight shot through the inside...

It's loud but not as extreme as others are making it seem. It's definitely a much deeper tone than the stock exhaust which gives a pretty good feeling of power when you rev the bike up.

This should help out down here in Houston where drivers don't tend use their eyes too much while driving (...or their brains for that matter). The added exhaust note should alert some drivers of my presence and keep those assholes from changing lanes right where I happen to be driving.

    MORE PICTURES COMING SOON.

very nice exhaust...i like the carbon fibre finish a lot
but i think you will need a heatshield for the midpipe...

So it took me a while to get the mount done correctly. If any of you guys have noticed, the stock exhaust has a collar insert that helps maintain a seal whenever the hose clamp is tightened. The Scorpion mid-pipe to header connection could really use one of those. I think the collar is a sort of steel mesh ring layered in graphite. Either way, the mid-pipe to header connection was bleeding exuast pretty bad until I finally got it sealed up by widening the midpipe a little and sliding it further down the header.

    Final product:

    A little closer up:

I also finally got around to doing a much needed tail chop. It's not quite finished but once I paint the aluminum bracket black and add some turn signals alongslide the rear sub-frame it should look pretty good.

Oh and one more thing.... passed the 3500 mile mark today and the bike still runs a smooth as the day I got it. No mechanical issues what so ever.

    Default Dealer

I had my BMW dealer order it from a catalogue. I wish I could remember the catalogue he used but it seems to be a pretty common one. Our local Suzuki-Yamaha dealership uses the same catalogue of aftermarket parts so you may be able to ask any dealer that has access to Scorpion parts to order it for you.

Any idea on the weight difference between this one and the stainless steel version?
I've searched but I can't find any specs. Even Scorpions site says that the x exhaust is still under development!

I'm pretty sure there is little or no difference because it is not a "true" carbon canister. It is still a steel muffler. It's just wrapped in carbon for the look.

The only problem with Scorpion exhaust are they are SUPER loud and they dont come with a sparky.
