DRZ400sm 09 Tin Tank can change to Plastic??

Hi Guys,

Just bought 09 model DRZ400sm.I would like to change my gas tank to a plastic tank.

Can you guys advize me?

Do i have to change the whole set or just the tank?

I have an 03 and I put a clarke tank on my bike with no problem.

Get the Clarke tank and you can double your fuel range. It's very easy to mount yourself, but you may need to get a longer fuel line for the carb. Any auto-parts store should have something that will work. My local autozone didn't even charge me, just let me dig through a box of spares until I found what i needed. The stock radiator shrouds will bolt back up just fine. One of the best mods you ca do if you ride a lot.

Im frm Asia. Actually i wanted to get a smaller tank if there is,but not too small.

Is there another size smaller than the orginal size and its plastic?

no one makes a smaller capacity plastic tank. IMS make a 2.6 (same as stock) gallon tank that is shaped different than stock though.

there is a italian company out there that makes an aluminum tank. its smaller than stock but it uses the RMZ shrouds and it looks bad ass. but you pay for that bad assness. i cant remeber the name but somone on thumpertalk.com used one. search it
