Do NOT use brake fluid. Mineral oil will work fine since that's pretty much what the magura stuff is.

You can get mineral oil at the drug store. Hyd. jack oil at the auto parts / tool store. All the same stuff. I was given a bottle of Magura blood by the PO of my 625. But I've been running Magura hyd clutches since 1999 & mineral oil from the drug store was all I ever used.

Make sure the mineral oil is thin in viscosity (sp?) I had to flush a system once because they used thick (cheap) oil and it would just hold bubbles in suspension.

Why would brake fluid be bad exactly?

Not only is the viscosity wrong but brake fluid will destroy the seals and o-rings associated in a hyro clutch system.....
I run mineral oil as well....some put a little food coloring in so its easier to see.....

The crap that came out was black
I changed it with fresh mineral oil , which was clear !
I don't know what the heck that he put in it but its out now. It seem that the clutch is working fine but that is still unnerving .
I also am having trouble getting into first gear. It is a problem that has persisted the whole time I have had the bike , not good when you are stuck at a green light and can't get it in gear !
I have heard that this is fairly commen.
