how do i bloody start it!!!!

first off, hello fellow vor owners. ive just bought a 2000 503 mx bike to keep me busy while my cr500's being rebuilt.
the bike looks great, and im used to starting a 500 2 stroke so am used to kicking a big bike but i just cant get the bloody thing started! is there a technique or a checklist to do first

alot of 4 strokes don't like to be kicked too hard...opposite of the big bore smokers.. ( I have owned a KX 500SM) slow down the stroke...
something to do with going over 700 rpm and the auto decomp...
as an example my Berg and KTMs get a slow smooth kick, also turn up the idle a bit..thats a huge help..

Mine likes about 3-4 full kicks with the choke on then I knock it off & usually it'll start in 2 kicks. Don't stress yourself with the kicks just a steady kick the full stroke. You should be hearing a click at the bottom of the stroke & then as the starter returns to top. If it still ain't working try it without the air filter & check the carb for dirt. also make sure you're getting a decent spark. If not it might be a magneto/coil issue.
