Default Found a Battery... Will It Work?

I found a battery at work. It's a cute little 6V rechargeable deal and it only weighs a pound or so. Does anyone run a 6V system? I can't pass up a free battery if it might actually work... It's rated 4AH/20 hrs.
    Anyone know?

a battery for what? If you mean to start the bike or run lights then NO it will not work. bikes and cars run off 12v and 6 just wont do it

Yeah, I was afraid of that.... I know my Model A ran a 6V system, so I wondered if any bike systems run on 6V systems. It's a two stroke bike so no elec. Start. Just lights.
There are no 6V lights out there? I suppose I should just look instead of being lazy...

Ok. I just did a little digging and found that 6-volt bulbs (headlight, taillight, and directional) are quite common and affordable. Good.
Now, the next thing: What are your batteries rated at (in AH)? Like I said above, this one is rated at 4 Amp Hours/ 20 Hrs... I'm not well versed in the language of the battery, so what should this tell me as far as time between charges? I can't imagine that the "20 Hrs." marking means that it will last 20 hrs. on a charge. That just sounds completely unrealistic, so I must be misinterpreting this information...

Those of you who use a rechargeable battery pack instead of a lighting stator, how long do yours last and what are the ratings?

    Thanks again!

You could just hook another one up in series and then it would be a 12V system again... The weight savings might be neglegible though...

It will work for just lights....but the 6v lights are FAR dimmer than a 12v light. If it was me i would just skip that whole mess and go with a small 12v battery and some LED brake and turn lights because they draw about 100th of what a regular bulb draws. just my opinion though

How long would it last betwixt charges, do you think? I have about a 15 minute ride to work in the dark... And would I be able to get a headlight to run on said 12V battery that long?
