Default Just got my WR 250X... What mods are a must

Just picked up an 08 WR 250X and I'm wondering what mods would be the first. Well after the turn signals, mirrors and tail lights that is. I am making templates for graphics but I'm looking to get what I need on order and in stock so I can begin the continuance of Hooliganism!

Oh yeah what are you guys doing to the stock suspension for handling?

here it is with all 300 miles

Get a PCIII. It'll make it run better even if everything else is stock, and when and if you add a pipe, it'll be sweet. All the other changes (tires, sprockets, airbox mods...) are bound to happen too, but you might as well get the PCIII now since you'll need it eventually no matter what.

Which one is the best one? The PCIII is the Dyno Jet one correct? Thanks

That's the one. It's called a Power commander. It's pretty easy to install, but you will need a laptop to play with it...or else borrow a computer. Once the PCIII has a map that matches your mods, you're set. Lot's of people here share maps, and can offer help getting you set up.

Ok just got done talking to a friend of mine and he can get me a killer deal on the FMF PC, are they any good? OF should I go with the Dyno Jet?

I'm gonna set up Comp and Rebound today but the X feels like the rearend sets way high, anyone else notice this or am I just used to MX?

I've got a set of 1-1/8 pro tapers sitting here that I'm gonna throw on as soon as I get the bar mounts too.

There's been lots of discussion about the FMF programmer vs. the PCIII here. I think it boils down to the FMF being a bit simpler to set up, but the PCIII offering more fine tuning capability (if you need that).

You're right that the back end is jacked way up. There's a rear ride height adjustment on the shock (this is not the spring preload, which is separate) which will let you drop the seat height about 1.5 inches. Makes for a big improvement.

Thanks for the seat adjustment tip, I knew something was off (not to mention the rebound or lack there of)

Seat time... Stupid Utah DMV is working four 10 hour day work weeks and not five 8 hour days, So no plate till Monday! Riding is sketchy without a plate, passed 2 cops this morning and got nervous as hell (Utah cops love me)

i went "in" or firmer 2 or 3 clicks on everything and increased rear spring preload. i have done nothing with the air adjustment in the front fork, and i dont think anyone else here has. i also lowered the rear on the shock clevis as low as it would go and dropped the front .5 of an inch or about 12mm.

im really ready to go up +2 teeth on the rear sprocket now that i have a better freeway bike.

Anybody have photos of where this rear seat adjustment is and how to do it. Sorry for the stupid question!! Thanks in advance.
