    Default TE to SM

I've just brought home my 09 TE510 and looking for a set of Sumo wheels, where is the best place to get them from? I've already emailed Epic motorsports but have yet to hear back from them. Any help is appreciated

I got the EBC big brake kit for my TE-610 from Epic. I had the wheels built at Woody's using Rad Eagle hubs.

BikeSDP can you post a picture of the wheels on your bike?Did you have any fitment issues with the spacers and axels? What size wheels and tires are you running?Does the front rotor make any difference and what are you doing for a speedo?
    Thanks in advance.

Just to be up-front with you, I have a TE-610.

The front hub had a fitment problem initially. Woody's fixed that by replacing the bearings and spacers (including the one between the bearings). It turns out RAD built it for a TC-450. Other than that, no fitment issues. Wheels are 3.5/4.25, ContiForce SM tires are 120/70/17, 150/60/17. The front rotor does seem to haul the bike down better than the stocker. I'm kind of a big Clydesdale as well, so the larger rotor helps. Plus, it's thicker (albeit by 1mm) than the stocker.

I epoxied a KTM magnet to a spot on the rotor and it lines up with the sensor on the caliper. Look at the pic below. You can see it in one of the "buttons" where it's about to pass by the caliper. The computer can be switched between two wheel macros (one for TE and one for SM). In SM mode, I'm finding the difference to GPS speed is 1mph (or less) slow.

You were told your hub was built for a "te 450"? That funny, I have a te 450 and a te610 and they have the same fork, hub and axel assembly.

I have heard from 2 of the sites sponsors so far, but the only red rims that are available are a 5" rear rim. I would really prefer a 4.25 rear rim as thats what comes stock on the SMR. Anyone have any insight?

i can wait until i have disposable, post-tax payments income to buy a 5" rear for my smr.

however, if you want to buy my complete husky sm-r wheels, less rotor, pm me an offer. they are still and stock.

BikeSDP... did you use a wider clamp set. i too have an 08 te and i been concerned with going sm for the reason of a sm not fitting betwwen the forks. noticing the kit from husky comes with triple clamps and axle as well as wheels and brakes.

No need to change the triple clamps.Your stock axles and brakes can be used, just buy wheels and tires.

Nope. Mine is stock TE 45 mm suspension, stock triples, and stock TE spacing. Mine is actually sporting the 21/18 wheels right now. I want to be able to swap back and forth from TE to SM. In other words, the SM wheels were built to fit a TE.

I didn't intend to convert to SM fully.

I do have a front SM fender from Cemoto. Rear is pretty much the same, but the clunky underfender piece has been removed since I cracked the hell out of it.

Mine is an 05 te 450 and still used 45mm.That's why my front wheels interchange, spacers and all.So for the 50mm you need to use a shorter spacer, axles are still the same.
