    Default smooth gas tanks

just wondering on how you guys get your plastic gas tanks so smooth to pint them and make them so glossy. are you just sanding them until smooth? that would make sense.

i ask b/c mine is rough from cuts and deeps scratches and i'm thinking of painting it, but i want the glossy look to actually look smooth.
