Default Kids putting down some hot laps....

We made some changes to my sons suspension and his confidence went through the roof. He said he's never felt this good about the way the bike feels and it showed. I actually pulled him off the lot cause he was scaring the crap out of me.

My daughter is getting used to her new weapon, a stock KTM50 Sr. and she went to flying on it right out of the box.

Very cool pics! Nice looking bikes too. Does he ride SM style or was he just showing off for dad?

Where do you get leathers for your daughter, she is roughly the same size as my son and I'm on the hunt so to speak?

The bikes are a 2005 KX65 (built by Cam of M&M Racing) you can see it on his website and a 2006 KTM 50 Sr. We had to build a bracket for the rear end of the KTM to raise the rear ride height a bit because she was dragging the legs and it was real sluggish turning in. My sons leathers are from GP Leathers, you can find them on ebay and they are endorsed by CCS's florida director Henry Degow. My daughters leathers are Rooster Racing leathers. They are good leathers but all soft armour where my sons has hard armour. They'll work good for now but as soon as she's a little bigger we'll get her some like my sons. My son does not race SM, he races strictly SEMRA / roadracing but he loves to have the back in loose. He's got great throttle control (better then his dad ) and can get the rear wheel spinning out of the turn and still turn around and slide in on the entry. I normally have him ride as hard as he can to keep the rear end right on the edge of grip and not completely sideways but after we practice I let him go out and do whatever he wants, he goes out and does some wheelies, backs it in, stuff like that.

Same as with 4-strokes you just have to come in harder for it to work. The engine braking is almost non-existant but it is there. Hard braking on the front end, tip the bike in real hard and trail the rear brake bit while down shifting.

We've got his rear brake setup so it cant lock, a little trick the Sanders brothers showed me. But the trick is to just get all the weight on the front wheel, turn and get the rear wheel to turn slower then the front and viola...

This is just play time for him. When he's riding serious he keeps the rear end where it belongs

I would love to have a 125gp bike....

Thanks, he's 12. He used to be fearless. Up until a few weeks ago he had had some low sides and such but nothing major. Then we went down to Miami to do some testing on the new setup and he went down hard and ended up on crutches for a few weeks because of his ankle. He just started walking again about 2 days before the Starke race and is still not 100% yet. But I have to give him credit, I always told him that if you ride long enough eventually you are going to end up hurt. Its those with heart that get back on and he did.

yeah, thats amazing to see someone get a 2stroke sidewayz on asphalt like that, especially a 65! Maybe its easier when your 12 yrs old and the proper size for the machine instead of 190 lbs on a 65-(an old fart )Anywho- that kid looks awesome!!

I'll try but I dont have a video camera anymore. I need to go ahead and get one but race money keeps tying up my extra cash

Stock 1.6x10" wheels with Dunlop 90/90-10's front and rear. I tried the Sava 10x3.50 but it pinched the profile too much.

Damn, I thought maybe it was something local. I've kicked around the idea of taking the minitard to a local warehouse area on the weekend if there's not going to be a track day or anything.
