I have done it a couple of times, but I only entered the Iron Man Poker Run on Sat. You need an off road bike with knobbie tires. The over 50 class was only one 50mi. lap, but fuel was not a problem.

Do NOT *race* this on a sumo bike w/ sumo wheels and sumo suspension!

If you feel like *riding* the poker run at a mellow pace, paying close attention to avoiding rocks you *could* get away with it.

Of course anything is possible and your sumo bike will still be better than any of the many vintage bikes or Harley Sportsters that will show up but if you're going to actually *race* you will beat yourself and your bike up doing it and you probably won't win any trophies. (and they give out a LOT of them)

A fifty mile range is right on the jagged edge of having enough fuel for a lap in the race but it's plenty for a single lap of the poker run.

I'll be riding sweep so I'll keep and eye out for you.

Unless you have an offroad setup? This is an offroad race/ride - if you choose to ride I will almost 100% guarantee your the only SM entered. Even the poker run is just a shorter desert race/ride - I wish you best luck if you go and be sure to let us know how it was on the SM.

I think all of the supermoto bikes that are going to be raced in the desert are going to be in Primm that weekend.

Date is April 4th for the poker run and April 5th for the race. Last year my 450 did NOT make it one lap on the stock tank. I had a 1.5 liter bottle with gas in my backpack that got me the rest of the way. You need knobbies for this unless you're some kind of a sadist. However, there is a dual sport ride on Saturday. The bike must be street legal, but I would imagine that might be a little more friendly to a sumo bike. A little. Maybe. Here's the flyer: http://stumpjumpers.org/documents/20...rt100flyer.pdf

I'll be out there. Hope to see you there!
